Join the #ILAchat discussion of key findings and noteworthy trends from the 2017 What’s Hot in Literacy report this Thursday, January 12, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The official report will be released online Wednesday; the Twitter chat will focus on some of the more surprising results as well as field questions from participants about the survey.
The What’s Hot in Literacy survey takes the temperature of the literacy dialogue, identifies trending literacy topics, and helps drive conversations in the directions they are most needed. The survey provides a snapshot of what educators around the globe deem the hot—receiving the most attention—and important—the most critical to advancing literacy—topics in literacy education and helps to guide current research, professional development, and conversations in teacher educator programs.
Chat host Sam Patterson is a longtime educator who was involved in the first round of qualitative interviews that helped shape the survey that was completed by nearly 1,600 respondents in 89 countries and territories. ILA representatives will also be online to share insights and field questions.
Patterson is a Google Certified Teacher and the makerspace coordinator at Echo Horizon School in California.
