 | Dec 12, 2014

We recently interviewed Deborah Wooten to mark the release of the fourth edition of Children’s Literature in the Reading Program, coedited by Wooten and Bernice E. Cullinan.

Members can find the interview, conducted by the former president of the Children’s Literature and Reading Special Interest Group, Terrell A. Young, in the latest digital edition of Reading Today.

But for members and nonmembers alike, Wooten provided the following list of 10 titles that should be found in your classroom library to help encourage an appreciation for the creativity, inspiration, and power found in children’s and young adult literature:

The Right Word: Roget and His Thesaurus, by Jen Bryant and Melissa Sweet (Eerdmans Books for Young People, 2014)
