ILA National Recognition Symposium
Thursday, October 15, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
National Recognition by the International Literacy Association continues to be the gold standard of literacy education program excellence and is awarded only by ILA. ILA currently nationally recognizes reading/literacy specialist programs (advanced licensure) and elementary education programs (initial licensure).
The purpose of this free preconference symposium is threefold: (1) to collaborate with literacy education colleagues about innovative ways to improve literacy educator preparation programs aligned to ILA's Standards for the Preparation of Literacy Professionals 2017, (2) to learn how to apply for ILA National Recognition and to prepare the self-study, and (3) to learn how to apply for ILA National Recognition With Distinction and to prepare for the site visit.
If you are interested in applying for ILA National Recognition or in becoming a peer reviewer, we encourage you to attend.
