Here you'll find all the events you won't want to miss at ILA 2020. More details are available on the Schedule at a Glance and in our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
- The Children's Literature Intensive* takes place Sunday, October 18. The half-day event begins with a breakfast keynote and presentation of the ILA 2020 Children's and Young Adults' Book Awards. Author-focused breakout sessions, led by educators, follow.
- The inaugural Research Intensive* also takes place on Sunday, October 18, and includes a breakfast keynote by Nell K. Duke as well as breakouts that ask attendees to revisit seminal research and look ahead to the next decade of evidence-based literacy instruction.
- Author Meetups* are your chance to meet seven established and up-and-coming authors in a small-group setting—and leave with one book from each one! This is a ticketed event, and separate registration is required.
- The Core Conference takes place on Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17. These two full days of learning feature access to the Exhibit Hall and over 300 research-based and peer-reviewed sessions delivered in a variety of formats, including workshops, panels, poster sessions, and more.
- Institute Day* is Thursday, October 15. Select from 10 interactive, full-day courses that offer in-depth learning on a literacy topic of interest with experts in the field.
- The Exhibit Hall will be open for a special preview and Welcome Event on Thursday, October 15, 4:00 PM–6:00 PM. Take advantage of this opportunity to check out innovative products and services after you attend Institute Day or pick up your registration materials. This free, ticketed event is open to all attendees with an ILA 2020 Conference registration or Exhibit Hall-Only badge. Get ready to mix, mingle, and learn as you enjoy drinks, snacks, and early access to the Exhibit Hall!
- Join us at the ILA 2020 Awards & Reception at 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, where we'll honor the best and brightest in the fields of literacy research, instruction, and advocacy.
