Young Adults' Choices Reading List

Young Adults' Choices Reading List

Since 1986, the Young Adults' Choices project has developed an annual list of new books that will encourage adolescents to read. The books are selected by the readers themselves, so they are bound to be popular with middle and secondary school students. The reading list is a trusted source of book recommendations, used by adolescents, their parents, teachers, and librarians.

Beginning 2019, the project is cosponsored by the International Literacy Association and the Children's Book Council.

Want to get involved? We are looking for Team Leaders for our Choices programs. We consider numerous factors in selection, such as geographical representation, number of students, type of population, knowledge of children's and young adult literature, leadership and professional involvement, attendance at ILA conferences, and interest from and support of selected schools. The team leader online application form can be found below.
