Implementing a Schoolwide Literacy Action Plan for Adolescents

What's Inside

This article describes a data-driven process for designing, implementing, and sustaining a schoolwide literacy action plan for adolescents. The Taking Action Leadership Process has been field tested in numerous schools during the last decade and provides educators with a five-stage, research-based framework that represents the cyclical nature of assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring, review, and revision. The process also provides rubrics and tools to give educators the flexibility to meet the needs of individual literacy teams and schools.
