International Citation of Merit  |  Est. 1969

The International Literacy Association (ILA) International Citation of Merit is given to an individual whose reputation is clearly visible through global activities in the field of literacy and whose activities are for the benefit of countries beyond their own. This award recognizes exceptional contributions that have significantly advanced literacy practices and education on an international scale. Recipients are celebrated for addressing critical issues and implementing innovative solutions that impact diverse communities worldwide.

This award will now be open for submissions every three years.
