ILA Next
ILA Next (October 3–29) is an immersive and interactive learning experience accessible from the comfort and safety of your home or office. There will be Main Stage sessions, Pathway Workshop series, Learning Labs, and access to the Exhibitor Showcase. Registration to this event gives you access to live and on-demand content.
ILA Digital Events range from high-quality professional development opportunities to engaging discussions on timely topics. These events also give you a chance to become active within the ILA community, provide access to high-quality online resources, and connect with like-minded educators at a time and place that's convenient for you.
NETWORK SPOTLIGHT

AUA SPOTLIGHT
Dr. Katia Ciampa, President of Widener University's Alpha Psi Chapter, Assistant Professor, and Graduate Literacy Program Director, alongside Dr. Dana Reisboard, Chapter Advisor and Associate Professor of Literacy Education, organized a digital literacy conference entitled "Teaching Literacy during Turbulent Times" on August 19, 2020. The conference inducted 10 new members into the Alpha Psi Chapter (see below) and included nine virtual breakout sessions. Three hundred attendees learned about various strategies for teaching and assessing literacy in a virtual format. Attendees noted that the sessions "provided a variety of topics, from phonics to reading…ALL important components of balanced literacy," "I loved hearing how other teachers are using technology to have their students collaborate virtually during this time of online instruction," "Made me feel more prepared for this upcoming virtual school year," and "Provided suggestions on how to interact and connect with students and families virtually.

How To Promote Your Event With ILA
ILA can help promote the affiliates events. Here's how:
- Chapters can request upcoming events to be posted on the ILA website calendar. Please submit events with the date and link. There must be a two-week minimum advance notice. ILA will approve submissions. Chapters can promote up to three meetings per year on the ILA calendar. Submit requests to chapters@reading.org
- ILA can share upcoming events on social media. When you post the event on your social platform, tag ILA using the appropriate handle, and we will share it!

REQUEST FOR ARTICLES
We want to hear from you! We are requesting articles written by our network leaders showcasing the work of their individual associations. Please forward articles (200 words or fewer) to chapters@reading.org. You also can write for ILA's blog Literacy Now. Review our submission guidelines and feel free to reach out with proposals or ideas.
